NIN is doing good for the music world, imo

Posted by Joe on May 8th, 2008

I say Trent Reznor is thanking is fans time and time again with his latest releases.  Ghosts, which I did not mention here due to being away, is a great ambient album that is 2 CDs long, sounds great, and was $10.  Or I could have downloaded half of the songs for free.  Outstanding.   I […]

How to get what you want

Posted by Gary on April 10th, 2008

This internet thing has really brought out some creative ideas.  You may remember the One Red Paperclip site from a couple years ago where a guy started with a single red paperclip and traded his way all the way up to a house.
Now, an artistic couple from NYC are painting what they want and selling […]

Stumbled across my new favorite band… The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain, whilst browsing the Best Of News Blog.
“The Ukulele Orchestra is a group of all-singing, all-strumming Ukulele players, who use instruments bought with loose change, and who believe that all genres of music are available for reinterpretation, as long as they are played on […]

Posted by Gary on March 9th, 2008

The actor in the center of this photo is starring with Jack Black (the blonde guy) and Ben Stiller (on the right).  The film is called “Tropic Thunder.”  You might be surprised to learn who it is and why there’s a bit of controversy over him in this role.

R.I.P. Double ‘G’

Posted by Gary on March 5th, 2008

The man, the myth, the legend - god among geeks - E. Gary Gygax has passed away Tuesday at the age of 69.  The Wisconsin native is best known for co-inventing Dungeons & Dragons in 1974.  This is like the death of Elvis or John Lennon for a lot of us nerds.

Silverman, Damon, Kimmel, Affleck love square

Posted by Gary on March 1st, 2008

If you haven’t already seen this little viral exchange, do yourself a favor and check it out now. It’s freakin’ high-larious. Here’s the background…
Every night Jimmy Kimmel ends his show by apologizing to Matt Damon because he supposedly ran out of time and will not be able to fit him in on the […]

You Suck at Photoshop

Posted by Gary on February 23rd, 2008

A hysterical little tutorial from Donnie Hyde over at “My Damn Channel.” This is the first of seven (so far) installments. The commentary is dry and hilarious, but you might actually learn something about the ins & outs of Photoshop along the way.

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later… those egos all competing for the same late night viewers.  It was bound to come to fisticuffs.  It finally did two nights ago.  Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart came to blows over Mike Huckabee.  And we have it on video:

It started unraveling on the […]
