Worst. Movie. Ever.

Posted by Gary on March 8th, 2008

They actually had the gall to call the new Anna Nicole Smith biopic “the most anticipated motion picture of the year.” If by “anticipated” you mean, will cause me to stick rusty ten-penny nails in my eyeballs if forced to watch it, then yea, I guess they’re right.

Top Gun (sorta)

Posted by Gary on February 10th, 2008

This is an oldie, but a goodie.  Sports Illustrated writer Rick Reilly had the opportunity of a lifetime… to take a flight in an F-14 Tomcat.  To say it didn’t go well is probably an understatement.  He knew he might be getting in over his head before takeoff:
I was worried about getting airsick, so […]

Late Night Throwdown

Posted by Gary on February 6th, 2008

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later… those egos all competing for the same late night viewers.  It was bound to come to fisticuffs.  It finally did two nights ago.  Conan O’Brien, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart came to blows over Mike Huckabee.  And we have it on video:

It started unraveling on the […]

With music videos like those linked below, how can you not fall in love with “The Whitest Kids U’Know?” It’s a sketch comedy show on IFC (Independant Film Channel) that I’ve recently been exposed to. They’re second season kicks off on 2/10/08. Check ‘em out in all their uncensored glory. NSFW.

Still Life

Posted by Gary on February 3rd, 2008

Way cool, spooky short film about a young man on a road trip who takes an unexpected detour through a small town… and the startling events that unfold. Run time is about nine pretty gripping minutes. “Still Life” was directed by John Knautz and starring Trevor Matthews.

Half way there..

Posted by Joe on January 27th, 2008

Here is a follow up to the Fox News post I made about their ditty on Mass Effect.
The woman who was the head of that segment has apologized for misrepresentation.
Here is an article from Kotaku.
Now, Fox News just needs to step up and take responsibility as well and this whole stupidity will be over.

We need more babysitting in government

Posted by Joe on January 27th, 2008

Next to all the fun stuff I post here, I also feel the need to post more serious stuff, that borderlines stupidity and hypocrisy.
In 2003 ABC broadcasted an episode of NYPD Blue where they showed a woman’s butt.  Everyone flipped out apparently over this.  The “FCC on Friday determined that a woman’s naked backside is […]

Posted by Gary on January 25th, 2008

A recent survey of 2000 moviegoers by 20th Century Fox asked them the best weapon ever featured in a film. The lightsabre of Star Wars fame took the top spot, followed by Dirty Harry’s .44 Magnum and Indiana Jones’ bullwhip. The top 10 can be found here.

Watch out parents, your kid….

is playing a…. SEXBOX!
oh my!
Fox News once again, proves that it is full of it.

Now, basically.  The one guy who was defending the game Mass Effect was the only person who understood what was really going on in the game.  I just finished one play through last night.  I must say, I have seen more […]

Happy Belated SmurfDay!!!

Posted by Gary on January 15th, 2008

OK, so I was a day late (and so many dollars short), but TubaPants would like to wish the Smurfs happy 50th birthday.  Started by the Belgian artist Peyo, the Smurfs made their debut in comic strip form in 1958.
Some Smurfy links for you:

Can’t Wait for LOST!

Posted by Gary on January 5th, 2008

Ok, as you can see by the little countdown thingy over there on the right, we’re only a few days away from the (probably abbreviated) new season of LOST, and I gotta say I’m really starting to get excited. I mean, there have been good shows out there, but none that physically get my […]

Old School Sesame Street not suitable…

Posted by Joe on November 20th, 2007

Here is a great article about the release of the first two seasons of Sesame Street.

I wasn’t around for these opening seasons, but I know that I do not approve of the changes the show made from when I was a kid to now days.
